I don't know about you, but I can't even see my twenties in the rearview mirror. They are a few towns back. Chillin 'with my cups of pong solo beer. Plaid shirts. Natty Light. Keg stopped.

I can’t even separate a bottle of wine without the hangover aftertaste.

Staying Ready For The Holidays

What are your goals for the coming year?

I am sure you are happy to have a fresh start, to set new goals, to make 2021 your best year, a new year that burns for me. That's good.

Maybe you can reduce your diet for a few weeks on holidays. Relax your body and allow those aching limbs to take the necessary sabbatical. Share with friends and family (while you look at how many people are allowed to be together in each circle. Are 5 people today? 10 people? Or are you allowed 5 in the house, 12 outside, and grandma gets out of the car wash?) and a few drinks.

Honestly, does a week or two break really make such a difference? What about reducing your training in early December, going into a full two-week closure from late December evening Christmas shopping to a few days after New Year’s Eve?

Let's talk Weight Loss

Your weight naturally varies during the day. This is mainly due to dehydration at night and eating during the day. This does not mean gaining weight, it is just that you are rehydrating and taking hours for your body to use or excrete what you have eaten during the day.

Your weight also changes from day to day. One of the major influences on women is their menstrual cycle. Other reasons include sodium intake, exercise, illness, alcohol consumption, and more.

Most importantly, your body weight fluctuates throughout the year. Alex Leaf wrote an extensive article on the subject of East.com referring to 54 different science papers on how to reduce fat gain by eating. I will not review his paper in this article, instead I have used a few graphs and findings before presenting my solutions on how to stay clean while crushing food and drink.

  • Welcome to the Mountains of Chronic Obesity
  • What a beautiful graph.
  • Do you see all those peaks and valleys?
  • I am a great traveler. I have traveled the worst mountains in my day.

From the summit of Mount Batur in Bali above the clouds as the sun rises. Or face some of the major routes Hawaii has to offer such as the Lanikai Pill Box Trail or the Koko Crater Stairs. To finally explore another coastline opposite my country I rode a Bee Hive in Banff, Alberta.

THESE are some of the most beautiful peaks and valleys.

Those on the graph do not exist.

You will notice, anyone who compiles this lovely little flow chart, highlighting some of the major international holidays followed using straight broken lines. Undoubtedly, the highest peak in the graph is, far, the holiday season from Christmas to New Year showing a steady decline after the holiday season. Germany may have kicked the big butts for the American season this Christmas, but it is still a huge weight gain so far.

At a quick glance at this chart, your conclusion may be that although there is a strong tendency to lose weight during the holiday season, it is slowly declining. No damage, no harm, right?

That's not right.

The problem is that although there is a complete loss of body weight, many people who gain weight for the holidays, who do not fully lose the total amount they have gained.

That bright black line in the middle of the graph (basic weight during the year) will slowly but surely rise over the years. The authors of some papers claim that this could have a profound effect on the normal course of human weight gain during their lifetime.

  • If you look closely, the peak does not end on Christmas day. Or New Year's Day on that issue.
  • It looks like it will be quite high a few days later.
  • This leads me to believe that it was not the only Christmas dinner you ate that made you fat.
  • It was not the alcohol you had on the night before the New Year.

Apparently it was a collection of many overcooked meals. Twelve additional cocktails and eggnogs during the season. A few jokes that we missed because of the circles and the kindness we allowed ourselves because we just worked so hard all the time. And at the end of the day, 2021 will be our year anyway, right? We will lose everything then.

Normal Vacation Time

Yes, the Christmas party for work will be a few weeks before Christmas (it is always fun to remove hell from work at real Christmas time). So suppose two weeks before Christmas. The boss pays, and they make you suffer all year long. Surely this is the perfect time to bring them back. “You know what, I'm going to turn that into fried sweet potatoes. You know, I also gave you onion rings. "Satan.

Anyone who decides for Christmas should be before the end of Q4 really upset.

Now you have all the end-of-year pressures. Your bosses are crazy. Asset valuation or budget estimates are in the forefront. Customers not only forgot to be in the holiday mood but turned the other way into full Grinch mode (before his heart grew three sizes). That means an extra drink or two at night to relax.
