In fact, the grande chai tea latte at Starbucks contains 42 grams of sugar. Next: "Although you take in more sugar, you also get nutritional benefits from tea," says Gorin, along with some dairy proteins.
Smart fix: Ask your barista for a smaller size and lighten up on focus. An even more healthy alternative: Order boiled tea tea (this is made in a tea bag), which has 0 calories and still contains those beneficial antioxidants that eliminate inflammation. You can add your favorite milk.
“If you fully embrace the season by switching from a regular morning latte to a spice spice latte every day, you are probably doubling (or triple) calories,” says Gorin. For example, a latte pumpkin spice latte from Dunkin 'skim milk contains 340 calories and 55 grams of sugar, compared to 100 calories and 14 grams of sugar in its latte unpopular in the middle.

Pumpkin and Oktoberfest beer are here for a limited time, so they feel special, but you'll need to pay attention to the pour if you want to participate. "The size of the supply of beer is 12 ounces of 5% alcohol," said Gorin. If you happen to be out on the porch this fall for a drink, the amount you get at the bar is usually more than one drink (meaning more alcohol and more calories). Some of the season beers contain more than 5% alcohol, so check the label on your own to find out what you get.
Not only can calories be a concern, but alcohol also has a profound effect on sleep, disrupting sleep in the second half of the night, research shows. Poor sleep can adversely affect metabolism, appetite and activity levels in a way that puts you at risk for weight gain, the study said.
Tactical preparation: When ordering a beer, get a bottle (or spilled from a bottle to a glass) rather than a tap, which ensures you stick to a 12 ounces of serving size, recommends Gorin.
